First Seattle Market for 2012

We’ll be in Seattle on Saturday July 14th for our first farmers market of the season.

We’re looking forward to seeing our friends and customers and to spend a little time in the big city.

The fruit is just starting to ripen, a little bit later then “normal” but quite a bit earlier then last year, which was the latest we’ve ever had. We’ll be bringing sweet cherries, black and red currants, peas (snow, sugar snap, and shelly) and mulberries.

I’m pretty sure that we’ll have pie cherries next week.

We hope to see you then.

Red Currants

It feels like summer is making a comeback after a brief respite from hot temperatures earlier this week. There is a fire a few miles north of Wenatchee, in Swakane canyon, giving us a little smoke but not too bad.
This week we’ll have:
-Van sweet Cherries
-Rainier Cherries
-Black Currants
-Red Currants
-Snow Peas
-Sugar-snap Peas
-Raspberries
-a few Mulberries

The mulberries are just starting, so we’ll probably have more in coming weeks. The pie cherries are not quite ripe yet, next week for sure (its risky for me to say ‘for sure’ when discussing fruit ripening, but Ill stand by this one) And still, it’ll be a light week as result of a light cherry crop so come early!
